Video Evaluations

The junk food video in my eyes was a major hit. The reason why I think this video was successful was in the case that the people in the video were characterized for the right parts. I liked the part where they drove up to Mc Donalds and he ordered a cheese burger. Even though they told the guy ordering the facts about Mc Donalds and how it very unhealthy to eat that kind of food all the time, he still munched it down. They used humor technique in the video when the boys were running and the chubby guy couldn’t run as fast as the built one. This shows that people that might eat junk food all the time won’t necessarily get far in life as people that don’t eat junk food all the time. An interesting aspect of this video was it also showed the before and after of what happens when junk food gets into your system. I think the purpose of this video is to persuade others to think twice when they eat something that may cause there life in danger. Or exercise daily to burn calories and stay fit.
The sex video was a very educational video. The video was great in the fact that it showed us other people’s points of views in the talk of sex. The point of views told us where they got their first educational talk of sex from, and what they thought about it. It also mentioned that at this moment having sex is not an excellent choice unless you want to take responsibilities that may come later on in your life. They used the statistics technique to persuade others to always use condoms in making love to an opponent. They showed what could happen to ones life if they choose to have sex without a condom. The best part that this video informed was to stay abstinence until reaching a mature age.
My group’s video was about Evolution and Creationism. Our Purpose of this educational video was to inform potential prejudice opinion. In minds of many people they have many unanswered questions about Evolution and Creation that hasn’t been revealed. Such as whether they believe in Evolution or Creationism, if Evolution or Creationism should be taught together or alone, and also provided reasons why people still go against the theory of evolution/creationism and why they still believe in creationism/evolution. Our video had many teachers and students thoughts about evolution and creation. There thoughts feel along the lines of scientific theories, and mostly from there religious beliefs. We used many statistics of what people think of evolution and creationism around the world. There still isn’t one definite answer of whether the world was formed through evolution or creationism. It’s all based on opinions.

Flight 1549

It all happened in a quick two seconds. My heart raced like I was going through the last few moments of my life. The only thing I could think about was dieing.
I was pumped up and ready to go to Charlotte, NC with my aunt for the weekend. I was going to miss two days of school and enjoy it somewhere else; can it get better than that? We got to the airport and checked in our bags and got our tickets. We went to the gate and started boarding. The plane was full; there were over five hundred people on that flight. Me and my aunt took our seats and stared out the window. I couldn’t stop smiling, in a few minutes we would be out of New York and heading our way to North Carolina.
An hour later, my aunt got up for the restroom and the plane started to shake tremendously. And then in no time the pilot came on the intercom and said, “We will have to land, we will have to land!” “Everyone take your seats, put on your life jackets and gas masks!” “HURRY!” Everyone ran to there seats as fast as they could. Babies were crying and little kids were screaming. Grandmas and Grandpas were reaching there blood pressure limit. No one knew what was going on. I was holding on to my aunts’ hand as hard as I could. Tears were slowly rolling down my cheeks. I closed my eyes.
Sooner or later all there was was a crash. After hearing the loud crash I took a peek out the window to see where we had landed. We were surrounded by water. Then this old man said, “Were in the Hudson Bay.” Everyone looked calm and was waiting for further instructions. That was everyone but me, I was freaking out. I was glad we landed safe and that no one was hurt, it’s just that taking a peek out the water gave me the chills. I learned everything a kid does when they’re little but the only thing I didn’t learn was how to swim. My aunt said the life jackets would help me float above the water so I won’t drown, I didn’t think so.
Ten minutes later there came loads of ambulances, fire trucks, police cars, rescue boats, and helicopters. We all started to get off the plane as fast as we could. Everyone carefully stepped on the wing of the plane, and made there way to shore. The water was freezing; it felt like it was below zero. I took baby steps on the wing of the plane, crossing my fingers that I wouldn’t fall. I made it to shore relieved. When I looked across the ocean I could see all our baggage and stuff floating on top of the water. The nurses and doctors gave us blankets to wrap our selves up in. We sat in this deck house where all the passengers where. They were all curious of what had happened. Then a police man came in and said, “I am glad everyone’s okay and no one got hurt. What had happened was a flock of birds came in the way while the pilot was steering the plane, and one of those birds got caught in the engine of the plane and had started a fire. The pilot had to land as fast as he could. There was no way he could find an airport close by, and he didn’t want to land on houses or highways and take the lives of others. So he landed in the Hudson Bay, where no one could be in harm. You should be thankful for a pilot that actually cares about his passengers not all pilots would do that.” Then the police man left the room.
As I looked up I could see tears suddenly dropping from peoples eyes. Everyone was overwhelmed that they actually got to see this moment. No one knew what would’ve happened to them if it wasn’t for the pilot. The police man was right not every pilot is that great.

Obama Letter

Dear President Obama:

Congratulation on the victory of being the 44th President of the United States, and making history as the first African American President. Your debate speeches inspired all. Your achievement is an inspiration to the world and all eyes are on you.

We are grateful to know that a courageous man like you is ready to help fight for this country and get it back to how it use to be. We know that there are many obstacles for you to solve: the two wars that take lives of loved ones, economies down fall, help every American in a home, educate children, get every family a healthcare plan, lower taxes, etc.

All your ideas are brilliant and I know everyone’s excited for the changes to happen. I love the idea of stopping the war and getting our troops back home to there families. We are generous of the fact that out soldiers help this country try to get what it deserves. Our parents can always stop a tear from rolling down your cheeks, but when you watch the news and hear them talk about a soldier that gave up his life one day in this tragic war no one can stop a tear from rolling down your cheeks then.

You have worked really hard to get the trust of others. We believe in you to make this happen, and we just want to thank you once again for showing us there is way. WE CAN MAKE A CHANGE.

Thank You,

Dolly Patel
